Our Pastors

Abdullah and Marcia Birdsong are the Founders and Senior Pastors of Dunamis Church. Devoted servants of God chosen by the Lord Jesus Christ to be trailblazers in His kingdom, Abdullah and Marcia are gifted pastors, authors, intercessors, and entrepreneurs. They hold degrees from Morehouse College, Samford University, and Penn State University respectively. They are an example of willingness to share the call of God and their gifts to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In April 2009, Abdullah and Marcia demonstrated their faith in God and a commitment to “walk by faith” in every area of life when, they founded Dunamis Church in the gymnasium of a local elementary school in northwest Charlotte with only 4 people.

God has called them to be fervent and passionate intercessors for the reconstruction and elevation of the Christian family. The Lord has delivered them from many difficulties and afflictions. Their various experiences has equipped them to identify with the hurts and pains of His people.

Gifted with a strong ability to teach the Bible with clarity in a practical manner, both Abdullah and Marcia flow in a strong prophetic anointing as they teach. Visionaries who believe it is God’s will for everyone to prosper and be in health, they are committed to helping educate people to what God’s word has to say about living and walking in victory through deliverance, love, and power.

Abdullah is the author of the life-transforming book Renovating the Mind. As dynamic change-agents they are being used by God to prepare, equip, and empower leaders for cutting-edge ministry in Charlotte and beyond. They are the parents of one son, Samuel Joshua and reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
